This is your only warning

Nice Strat

Nice Strat

Ok lets talk about music for a second. My taste in music was influenced by my family and peers. My mother was a huge fan of the British Invasion so I was listening to The Who, Rolling Stones, Beatles, The Kinks, The Yardbirds, Zeppelin, and so on. My Dad loved southern rock and blues-rock which meant I listen to a lot of Lynrd Skynyrd, Creedence, and The Allman Brothers. Then there was funk and jazz that that I loved listening to when I was elementary school. Later on I got into stuff like Hendrix. And when I started middle school I got into punk and metal thanks to some of my “friends”, and lately I’ve delved into the indie scene and instrumentals. Also the first album I ever bought was Californication by The Red Hot Chili Peppers was when I was 6, I was already into Alternative. So in general my taste in music is so wide that I can’t be classified.

Now what do all these have in common, they all have some artistic merit, yes even punk. What I am trying to do is give you a heads up if you get upset when I say that the new single by *insert random J-Pop Idol* sucks more than she did to get the job (Yeah I sound like Yahtzee, because I lack any creativity). When the lyrics don’t make sense what so ever I tend to get very angry. But if the lyrics are up to their pea-sized nuts with fluff and sugar, I wait for a doujin that features the Seiyuu’s character being raped so hard in every orifice that by the end they are so stretched out that my old sneakers look a 2 year old’s anus, compared to them.

If I scared you back there good this is what I am like once I go back to school. However if the song has enough rock elements I tend to look past it. A perfect example is Canaan and K-On. J-Rock itself is another story, because a lot of J-Rock songs have some traits of punk, which is a plus for me if you read this entire post.

So in the end my taste in music is not the same as Kanzeon. I will not go on about the new HIMEKA single, but I will talk about LACCO TOWER’s new album.

  1. So these are a few of your favorite things? Fantastic!

  2. Also a fan of southern rock, and I also found much to like in J-rock. I think you’re on to something here.
